Contesa Tate has extensive experience in the field of outreach, counseling and therapy and advocates for mental and social development. Contesa passionately leads and organizes empowerment programs, self sufficiency workshops as well as topic specific trainings to empower individuals to have confidence in achieving their spiritual, educational, wellness and recovery goals.
With years of experience in working with At Risk populations , Contesa Tate has helped individuals who were homeless, addicted to alcohol or other drugs, suicidal and in crisis, mentally ill, conflicts with the law, rape and abuse and more. She also served as a County Service Coordinator in which she assisted homeless adults, and veterans, in attaining financial benefits and local and government aid and assistance. Contesa also educated and prepared adults for job readiness and career placement, along with money management and budgeting.
Contesa’s interest to provide empowerment services led to creating A Virtuous Women Ministry, a ministry she created in 2008 while earning her Baccalaureate Degrees at the University of
California, Davis. The ministry has provided a safe haven where adult and young women could give testimonies, ask for spiritual guidance and reassurance. It also was a place to network, give comfort, share the word and listen to our fellow believers in Christ.
Contesa’s experience in leading this ministry has brought nothing but joy into her life. She was able to minister and coach women of all ages, different backgrounds, culture and religion. Contesa has helped women with relationships, self esteem, academics, and keeping faith in themselves and God.

With a growing interest in serving the community by way of mental, social and spiritual health, Contesa continued her education and earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage, Family Therapy in 2014.
Along with her education in secular maters, Contesa was eager to expand her education spiritually, thus earning her License as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ.

Contesa commits earnestly to her church and is dedicated to serving her community.
Over the years, Contesa has served her community by contributing her time by ministering and working at homeless shelters, serving adult Veterans, tutoring school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subject areas, while organizing and supporting community events and more.
With Passion and dedication, Contesa currently serves as the Director of the West Contra Costa County CARE Center, Public Speaker, as well as work in collaboration with local organizations to bring awareness and eradication to Social inequalities, injustices and barriers to wellness for persons impacted by low socioeconomic barriersand trauma.
For fun and inspirational matters, Contesa hosted an Online Radio Show and Blog, where she interviews powerful and influential people all over the country as well as promote Christian ministries, testimonies, education, Gospel Artists, Authors and community leaders and events. She also teamed with her husband, Elder William Tate Jr, and created “Talking With the Tate’s”, a ministry purposed to encourage healthy marriages and personal development.
Contesa takes pride and joy in being a faithful Wife and Mother to her beautiful daughter and handsome son!
